On the line for drivers is a chance to grab one of the coveted Ironman trophies, along with the winners share of the purse, Division 4 Renegade points and contingency awards.
Friday night was an open practice night for competitors to get their cars dialed in for Saturday and Sunday racing, each day a separate event. With air temperatures nearing the century mark during the day and track temperatures hot enough to fry an egg, finding a good set up is crucial to make it through early rounds of eliminations.
Racing continues on Saturday with time trials and qualifying(2 rounds) starting at 9:00am and eliminations following immediately after. Sunday’s action begins at 9:00am, but only one round of time trials and qualifying before eliminations.
