A Celebration of Live for Le Roi “Tex” Smith is scheduled at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, on the grounds of the Los Angeles Fairplex, in Pomona, California for October 3, 2015 from 3pm until 7pm. Debbie Baker wrote to tell us that Cruisin’ For A Cure is coming up on September 26, 2015 at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, from 7 AM to 4 o’clock PM. We will have free prostate cancer screening for men and they can go to our website at www.crusinforacure.com.
Gene Ellis called to tell me that Hila Sweet and Larry Lord are going to hold the Corona Raceway Reunion, to celebrate all auto racing from Jalopies to Open Wheel and more. It will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the American Legion Post 79, 2979 Dexter Drive, Riverside, CA 92501. Tickets are $30 each, includes food, you must have a ticket to attend and the time is 10AM-2PM. For more information call Larry Lord at 909-254-2800. We are looking forward to seeing Hila again. She ran the Car Racers Reunion for many years before moving to Texas.
