Ocala, Fla. (JANUARY 25, 2016) – The Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing in Ocala, Fla. has announced the return of four corporate sponsors of the 26th Annual International Drag Racing Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, which will be held in Gainesville, Fla. at the Wyndham Garden Hotel Gainesville (formerly the Paramount Plaza Hotel & Suites) on March 17, 2016. Returning as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies will be long-time drag racing announcer and historian, Bob Frey, who will provide his own humorous anecdotes to the proceedings.
According to Donna Garlits, General Manager/CFO of the Don Garlits Drag Racing Museum announced Lucas Oil Products, Inc. (Corona, Calif.) will again be the banquet’s presenting sponsor, and the event will be known as the 26th Annual International Drag Racing Hall of Fame Induction Banquet presented by Lucas Oil Products. “We at the museum have been very blessed to have this long-term relationship with Lucas Oil, and the Lucas family. As we all know, the family has been very, very active in their support of motorsports in North America, as well as around the world,” said Ms. Garlits. “This is the seventh year the Induction Dinner has had their corporate support. Most importantly, Forrest and Charlotte (Lucas) appreciate the contributions of these men and women, who have helped build the sport. I can assure you we, my Father and myself, along with those who help put this annual event together, truly value this support and the overall relationship.”
Again providing their corporate support are Summit Racing Equipment (Tallmadge, Oh.), MOPAR, Chrysler Group LLC service, parts and customer-care group (Auburn Hills, Mich.) and Clean Acres Properties, LLC (Jerry & Pat Baltes, Boydton, Va.). Each company has had a long time continuous relationship with the Induction Banquet as Associate Sponsors.
Summit Racing will present commemorative rings, and Clean Acres Properties presenting trophies for each inductee. MOPAR will again provide commemorative glasses of the banquet to each attendee.
Ms. Garlits commented, “These companies over the years have provided very important support to the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame banquet. I have said this before, Lucas Oil, Summit, MOPAR/Chrysler and the Baltes family have made the banquet one of the most important events on the ‘off-the-track’ drag racing calendar. We could not do this without their assistance!”
Banquet tickets are available, but are moving briskly. The Corporate Tables for 10 people are priced at $1000 per table. Individual seating tickets are available at $100 each. Corporate table sponsors receive table signage, program recognition and other benefits.
The banquet is preceded by a cocktail reception which starts at 5:30 PM (Eastern). The banquet dinner will be served at 6:45 PM and the awards ceremony beginning at 8:00 PM.
The event will be filmed by Masters Entertainment of Bristol, Tenn. for MAVTV, and will air between April and June, 2016. The air date(s) and time(s) will be announced at a later date.
