On 8-10 July Russians, for the first time in the history, were participating in European Drag Racing Championship on the famous drag strip of Alastaro circuit.
The current national ¼ mile ET and Trap speed record-holder Dmitry Samorukov from Russian Team SMP Racing / Dragtimes won the first place in Top Doorslammers class of EDRC Nitro Nationals 2016, the part of European Drag Racing Championship.
His Dodge Viper DT is the fastest car of russian autosport and participates in 2016 Russian Drag Racing Championship.
A well-known in the drag racing world driver and engineer Adam Flamholc and his team Flamholc Racing are responsible for the preparation of Dodge Viper DT for national and international competitions.
All races were for 1/8 mile and Dmitry Samorukov has made it in 4.128 seconds @ 270.69km/h, the best result in his class.
Russian Drag Racing Championship – the straight-line acceleration competition between cars on the ¼ mile drag strip (402.33 meters) in three classes: front wheel drive FWD, rear wheel drive RWD and all-wheel drive AWD.
Four competition stages are planned in 2016 season: Krasnoyarsk, Moscow Region, Nizhny Novgorod and Grozny.
Russian Drag Racing Championship is hosted by company “Dragtimes” and promoted by SMP Racing.
Russian Drag Racing Championship is held under the aegis of Russian Automobile Federation.
