Just after one week, Russian Drag Racing championship is returning back to the racetrack “Nizhegorodskoe Ring”: 3rd stage of RDRC will take place on the dragstrip on 13-14 August. The entrance will be free for both days.
The audience will see a new round of battle for seconds and for the 1st place of championship in all three classes: FWD (front wheel drive), AWD (all-wheel drive) and RWD (rear wheel drive). There is a high possibility of a new ET track record – a week earlier Dmitry Samorukov has already renewed it on his 4000hp Dodge Viper DT: ET 6.708 seconds.
Once again, the powerful cars will meet on the dragstrip: 4 promods (Pro Modified – specially made and constructed cars for drag racing) will compete in RWD class. During previous round, 2 newcomers lost to their experienced opponents due to different technical problems. During the upcoming weekend, Oleg Kondakov (Dodge Viper DT) and Andrey Kravchenko (Topspeed Promod Outlaw) will try to win and move Dmitry Samorukov (Dodge Viper DT) and David Vegter (Chevrolet Camaro SS) from the podium.
We will also see an interesting duel in FWD class between 2 women: Honda Civics of Oksana Yakovleva and Yana Kholodkovskaya meet each other rather often on the dragstrip. Oksana won the 2nd stage of the competition, but the team of Yana Kholodkovskaya promised to prepare her car as good as possible to help her fight for the prizes.
The real intrigue is in AWD class: the leader of the overall standing Dmitry Mandrikov (Subaru Impreza) has only 3 extra points over the winner of the 2nd stage Alexey Krivolapov (Nissan Skyline). Stanislav Lunev (Nissan Skyline GT-R Kiwamaru) is not far from them – just 27 points. However, do not forget about fast Dmitry Kapustin (Nissan Skyline GT-R) and Vladislav Kasheev (Nissan Skyline GT-R), season debutant, who won 15 points in his first race last week.
The fight on the dragstrip of “Nizhegorodskoe Ring” will be even more spectacular than last week. Because the audience can unveil the names of potential champions right now – after Nizhny Novgorod the competition will go to Grozny, where the final stage of RDRC will happen on the “Fortress Groznaya” racetrack.
There will be also a competition “Battle of Engines ET” during the 3rd stage of Russian Drag Racing Championship, where many famous drivers of Nizhny Novgorod region will compete with each other.
