Hot Cars & Cold Ice Cream at NMCA World Street Finals at Summit Motorsports Park

They’ve been banging gears and banging heads for months, but drivers of the 2016 NMCA Muscle Car Nationals presented by E3 Spark Plugs ended their six-race season with the exciting 15th Annual NMCA World Street Finals, Aug. 26-28, 2016 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

“We had nearly twice as many cars and spectators for this year’s event than we had for last year’s event, despite the weather forecast, and it has definitely been one of our shining moments for 2016 at Summit Motorsports Park,” said Bill Bader, Jr., Summit Motorsports Park president. “The event was huge, which is a testament to the cars featured.”

Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series Sizzles at Summit Motorsports Park

The completely captivating Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series was a special component of the 15th Annual NMCA World Street Finals Aug. 26-28, 2016 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

In JE Pistons Drag Radial, Andy Essary ran a 4.44 and took a trip to the top of the qualifying ladder in his ’02 Trans Am. He took it all the way and won with a 4.46 in the final, while Joe DeDona got way loose in his ’03 Corvette, but managed to keep it off the retaining walls.

Sunday Coverage

Eliminations are underway at the 2016 NMCA World Street Finals and the Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. The first round started off in spectacular fashion where the top in the championship points chase for Magnafuel Open Comp failed to advance. Last year’s champ, Jenna Pierce-Wilson, along with her father Kelly Pierce, and Chuck Hockenberry all missed the mark this morning. Hockenberry has an outside chance given he was in the lead going into this race, but the door is open for Donald Fenlon and Kurt Neighbor.

Friday Coverage

The on-track action has begun here at the 15th Annual NMCA World Street Finals featuring the Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series. The day starts with a test and tune session this morning at 8:30, and that will run to 3:00pm this afternoon when we’ll jump into the first round of qualifying.
