Marco Abruzzi outlasted a tough 48 car field to win top sportsman.
Maybe, just maybe the persistent rain on Saturday that washed out the entire day actually washed away the bad karma that hung over the beginning of the 14th Shakedown at the Summit presented by Mickey Thompson. Friday night saw wall bangers, blown engines, blown rear center pieces, disintegrating drivelines and a car literally flying through the traps. While the toll on equipment was high, all drivers involved were unhurt. Sunday however, turned out to be a beautiful day with great racing in all classes as racers tried to take home large chunks of the $155,000 prize fund.
