There were high expectations at Santa Pod Raceway with a massive attendance of fans who saw how the new concrete track to USA standards was, in fact, to improve the record-breaking performances, especially to the professional classes.

Micke Kagered 6.512 at 103 mph
Micke suffered a fuel pipe leak with a fireball around the engine.
Anita Makela was up against India Urbacher with Anita taking the win in a majestic 3.982 at 284 mph over India who had severe tyre shake and shut down to 8.948 at 74 mph.
Liam Jones took the win with a holeshot 5.159 at 246 mph over Stefan Gunnarsson who went up in smoke and out of shape at 6.622 at 100 mph.
Top Qualifier Antti Horto was first away shutting off in 6.700 at after severe shake but ahead of Bjorn Martensson who went up in smoke in a slower 7.259 at 99 mph.
Stig Neergaard went up in smoke as Duncan Micallef had tyre shake but lost fire after pedaling to finish on 14.395 at 34 mph to see Stig pass him to win in 7.765 at 153 mph.
The Semi-Finals started well with Anita Makela taking the win in a storming 3.908 at 310 mph passing Antti Horto who lost a blower belt in 5.955 at 108 mph.
Stig Neergaard had a very troubled run in 10.784 at 57 mph but Liam Jones redlighted on his superb 4.278 a t251 mph lap, giving the win to Stig.
The Finals were the so close with both neck to neck until both lost blower belts and momentum from Stig’s catching up speed just gave the win in 4.236 at 202 mph over Anita Makela in 4.398 at 199 mph.
TOP METHANOL DRAGSTER
Timo Habermann took the win in 5.301 at 267 mph over Dennis Habermann at a close 5.376 at 269 mph but a great team record had been achieved in setting the European Quickest and Fastest Side by Side Runs.
PRO MOD
Micke Gullqvist took the win in a superb 5.904 at 216 mph and in doing so set a new Santa Pod Track Record of 5.868 at over Jimmy Alund on 6.898 at 147 mph.
EUROPEAN NITRO FUNNY CAR
Steve Ashdown took the win on a superb 5.111 at 155 mph bye run.
