The NMCA circuit made its fifth of six stops of the 2018 season on August 23-26 at Summit Motorsports Park for the 17th Annual Garrett Honeywell All American Nationals. Three days of doorslammer racing were billed as the “Fastest Street Cars in the World.” That’s right, not a dragster in sight. Racers competed for titles in 20 different eliminators. Don Walsh Jr. made 6 passes, all in the 3.70’s but couldn’t make the final round call against Hamstra
David Barton’s high flying COPO made it to the semis in Factory Super Car
Mark Pawuk ran the table in Factory Super Car, Qualifying #1 at 8.05/171.58 and winning the category
Ed Brown escaped injury in this hard hit during qualifying
David Thiessen on his way to the #1 spot in 10.5 with this 7.88 @ 176.58 pass
Jason Hamstra took Extreme ProMod over a broken Walsh Jr. He was also low qualifier with a 3.72
James Lawrence’s Corvette outran Enzo Pecchini’s Mustang for the Radial Wars title.
Kurt Anderson ran in multiple classes, striking gold in Open Comp Eliminator
Nick Bacalis won the Street Outlaw class on a holeshot over Daniel Pharris. 4.37/168.51 to Pharris’ quicker 4.36/170
Nitrous Pro Street winner Jordan Ensslin took out #1 Qualifier Tricia Musi in the semis after a 3 minute burndown
Kevin Gass in his 66 Chevelle took home the Nostalgia Super Stock crown
Dwayne Mills tried to gain ground on Lawrence in the Radial Wars standings but came up one round short
Tricia Musi was low qualifier in Nitrous Pro Street at 4.43/161.59 with power provided by dad Pat Musi
