Philadelphia, PA (February 5, 2019) J.K. KELLY, author of the popular motorsports novel FUELIN’ AROUND, will be signing copies of his latest book at the DRAW booth on the NHRA Midway at the season opening Winternationals February 7-10 at the L.A. County Fairplex.
“Pomona’s always been special for me,” said Kelly. “ It was the first West Coast race I worked as a photographer and the first track I helped deliver drums of racing fuel to, to a racer by the name of Warren Johnson.” Kelly continued, “FUELIN’ AROUND is a behind the scenes story of how that little fuel company took on the Goliaths of the industry. I support the DRAW organization and am very thankful to them for this opportunity.”
The Drag Racing Association of Women (DRAW) is a non-profit organization that provides financial and emotional support to qualified individuals involved in drag racing accidents at a track. From 1985 through 2017, DRAW provided a total of $4,825,600 in financial assistance to 908 racing families.

Every February since 1961, fans have flocked to Southern California for one of drag racing’s grandest traditions: the unveiling of new cars, drivers, teams, and sponsorships at the NHRA season opener, where teams hope to use the season kickoff as a springboard in their pursuit of a spot in the Countdown to the Championship at the fabled Pomona facility known for its outstanding traction, smooth surface, and record performances.
