2019 TRIBUTE TO YORK US 30 DRAGWAY DEDICATED TO KARL NISHWITZ

The Tribute to York US30 Dragway scheduled for the York Airport on Father’s Day weekend, June 15-16, 2019 has been dedicated to Karl Nishwitz from Spring Grove, Pennsylvania.

Karl was a loyal member of the National Hot Rod Association and not only worked at York US 30 Dragway for over thirty years officiating the many major events that the world renowned Dragway produced in 40 years of presenting some of the best and definitely safest events in this country but volunteered his services to the NHRA at their largest event annually at the US Nationals held in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Nishwitz was also a loyal member of the staff of Musclecar Madness at the York Reunion that was presented at the York Expo Center for fourteen consecutive years. He was also a staff member for the presentation of the York US30 Heritage Days events that were presented at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing rounding out seventeen consecutive years with the nostalgia drag racing events.

He left us at the age of 84 and never in all of his years with the drag racing community did he ever waver one time from his dedication and support of the challenges that were faced.

The nostalgia drag racing community is a much better place today because of his contributions and nostalgia drag racing is much better for it!

A dedication award will be presented on his behalf to his daughter Linette Ehrhart at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 16th during the awards ceremony for the event.
