Nostalgia Funny Car Reunion Rescheduled
Mason-Dixon Dragway, June 26, 2021
Hello to all of our Drag Racing Family and Friends. We hope that you are all well and have endured the Covid-19 pandemic without any serious personal losses or inconveniences – health, business, or otherwise.
Although we may still have a few trying winter months ahead, we are tremendously encouraged by the arrival of the Covid-19 vaccines and are planning to host another Funny Car Reunion in conjunction with our 2021 “Rocking Chair Nationals” event at Mason-Dixon on Saturday, June 26, 2021 (rain date Sunday, June 27, 2021). Mason-Dixon is a great facility and is easily accessible for anyone via interstate highways.
As before, we intend to plan several activities around the reunion for attendee’s participation and enjoyment. One such activity is a side trip to the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing (EMMR) in York Springs, PA on Friday afternoon, June 25. The EMMR has a wealth of racing history and with assistance from the drag racing community has established a drag racing section that is expanding quickly. Another is a hospitality gathering in Hagerstown on Friday evening, June 25 to allow attendees to begin to re-connect early. Gary Gore will once again do interviews with everyone on Saturday morning, June 26, and we will have some special commemorative mementos for each person to take home. More details on these plans will be forthcoming.
For those traveling a distance, there are several good quality hotels within a few miles of the track. We will again make arrangements for the Comfort Suites, 1801 Dual Hwy., Hagerstown, MD 21740, 301-791-8100, GM.MD040 to be the host hotel for this event. It is about 3 miles north of the track and will provide a special rate for our group…simply ask for the Gold Dust Memories rate when making reservations.
As before, this reunion is not undertaken to create a special attraction for the event. Gold Dust Memories Nostalgia Motorsports Events are all about people and we do whatever possible to recognize those individuals in our sport that have given so much to make it such a huge part of our lives. Our goal is to have everyone come to see old friends, talking about old times together, and sharing stories. If nothing more, this pandemic has made us recognize that we may not be able to do these events too much longer…
Here’s what we need from you at this time…
*Save the date, Saturday, June 26, 2021 (rain date Sunday, June 27, 2021).
*Please let us know by e-mail or phone if you are going to be able to join us for the reunion and verify, update or provide your current contact information where we can send you event details and passes.
*Also, let us know if you would like to travel to the area early and participate in the Friday, June 25 museum and hospitality activities we are planning.
*Share contact information with us for any Funny Car drivers, owners, or crew that are not on our list, below, that may be interested in attending the event.
