The PDRA made its long-awaited debut at Summit Motorsports Park over the weekend for the inaugural DeCerbo Construction American Doorslammer Challenge. Of course, Mother Nature had her say and threw rain and strong cold winds at the festivities on Friday & Saturday that pushed the finals over to Sunday. In the end, records, upsets, and a few repeat winners told the story. Here are some pics of the winners and low e.t. setters from the event by Dave Oakes. Jim Halsey ruled Pro Nitrous. #1 qualifier @ 3.65 – 208.04, and took out Tony Wilson in the final with a 3.68.
Daniel Pharris wheeled the Galot Motorsports Camaro to the #1 spot in Pro Boost with a 3.61 – 211.00 blast.
J.R. Carr led the Extreme Pro Stock field with a 4.044 – 180.21 pass.
Wes Distefano was quickest in Pro Outlaw 632 in his Camaro at 4.16 – 186.74
Tim Essick’s “Brown Sugar” Mustang qualified #1 @ 4.01 – 186.74 and took the crown over a broken Chris Cadatto.
John Benoit tied the world record in Top Sportsman Elite with a 3.75 – 201.76!
Bob Bauer Jr. paced the Top Sportsman 32 group with a 3.993 – 180.16 pass.
Daryl Stewart was the upset winner in Pro Outlaw 632 with a 4.20 – 168.60 over Distefano.
Jason Lee took home the Pro Boost title over Randy Weatherford with a 3.659 – 208.97 to Weatherford’s 3.672 – 209.88
Elijah Morton was a 2021 first time winner in Extreme Pro Stock over Chris Powers with a holeshot 4.16 to a quicker 4.07
Cheyenne Stanley ran around Erica Coleman’s perfect light in the final to take the crown with a 4.15
Craig Addis was low man in Top Dragster Elite at 3.713 – 195.70
However, Mark White took the Elite class title with a 4.288 in the final.
Nick Meloni took out Troy Finner in the Top Sportsman 32 final when Finner lit the red light.
Eric McKinney had the field covered in Pro Nitrous Motorcycle at a 4.0 pace.
