CBD American Shaman 2021 ADRL Tour (FINALLY) Kicks Off This Weekend at WWT Raceway in STL
MADISON, Ill. – “The moment we’ve waited for has finally arrived…” –Lien Chan
After a number of circumstances beyond mortal control, the American Drag Racing League finally kicks off the CBD American Shaman 2021 ADRL Tour with the Aegis Home Protection Gateway Drags Presented by dragracingkids.org this weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway outside of St. Louis. As always, admission to the hottest show on the 660 is free, thanks to hundreds of thousands of tickets distributed throughout the region during recent weeks.
“All I can say is, third time’s the charm!” said eternally-optimistic ADRL Owner and CEO Kenny Nowling. “We’ve dealt with so many different things over the course of this year, but the one thing racers know how to be is flexible. I don’t want to jinx anything, but the weather is going to be great and we know the racing surface at World Wide Technology Raceway is going to be superb as always. Both fans and racers are in for an incredible weekend of drag racing at the ADRL’s home track Friday and Saturday!”
Frankie “The Madman” Taylor took the season-opening victory, and the Pro Extreme title, last year at the Texas Motorplex while Hank Stubbs earned the much sought-after Minuteman trophy at this event in 2020. Taylor’s journey for a repeat championship continues when the track opens for race car inspection Thursday at 2 p.m. local time (CDT) with a test session scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. The session is expected to last until 10 p.m. A second test session begins Friday at 10 a.m. with spectator gates opening at Noon.
Qualifying for the 2021 Aegis Home Protection Gateway Drags Presented by dragracingkids.org kicks off Friday at 4:30 p.m. with three rounds of qualifying for all classes. ADRL qualifying continues Saturday at 2 p.m. with spectator gates opening again at Noon. The legendary pre-race ceremony begins at 5 p.m. with the invocation and the National Anthem.
Additional classes include Extreme Pro Stock, Big Tire No-Time, Small Tire No-Time, Pro Jr Dragster, Top Jr Dragster, 6.0 Index, 7.0 Index, and Super Pro.
