Man, it sure felt good to get back to Bowling Green Kentucky for the Holley National Hot Rod Reunion. Three days of blazing hot sun and temperatures in the 90s was only bearable because of the action on the track and the addition of several new cars or cars making their first appearance at the reunion. Here are some photos of class winners and low qualifiers by Dave Oakes
Just a week after his Draglist interview, Corry Wheeler won the 6.0 class with a 6.29 @ 209.88
Adam Sorokin got really crossed up in his semi-final run.
Larry Harlen took home the 7.0 crown over “The Bruiser” on a double breakout 6.977
Levi Kennen’s new Illinois Thunder Arrow upset the favored John Smith in the FC final with a strong 5.99/217.67 run.
Dan Horan Jr. led the NTF field @ 5.701/248.66
Jimmy Young probably had Horan covered even without Horan’s red light in the NTF final with a 5.65/260.71.
Billy Smith was the #1 qualifier in 7.0 pro with a perfect 7.000
“Reher-Morrison” won NPS when “Bob Glidden” lit the red bulb.
Birthday boy Ron Hope outran his son who was driving the Pure Hell altered.
Look Ma!, one wheel!
Kelly Key was the 7.5 class winner @ 7.502/173.07
“Leapin Larry” also did some bumper dragging
I just love the look of Paul & John Smith’s Entertainer Corvette
