Photo Review: 2022 PDRA Norwalk

The PDRA returned to action with the DeCerbo Construction American Door Slammer Challenge at “America’s Racetrack”: Summit Motorsports Park. The racers had to play second fiddle to mother nature on Friday, but the weather cleared on Saturday resulting in close racing, some upsets and domination by the Franklin family.

Tommy Franklin went wire to wire in Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous by qualifying #1 @ 3.68 and beating world champ Jim Halsey in the final with a 3.65.

Johnny Camp took home the title in WS Construction Pro Boost by taking out #1 qualifier Melanie Salemi with a 3.63 in the final.

JR Carr outran Tony Gillig in the Liberty Gears Extreme Pro Stock final with a nice 4.03 to Gillig’s 4.07

Ashley Franklin joined her dad in the winner’s circle by putting a .023 light on Walter Lannigan Jr in the Shameless Racing Pro 632 final

73 yr old Paul Gast dominated Drag 965 Pro Nitrous motorcycle with 4 runs between 3.97 & 3.99

Bill Riddle ran a 4.00 in the Menscer Motorsports Pro Street final over a fast closing Ty Kasper

MagnaFuel Elite Top Sportsman belonged to Donny “Hollywood” Urban. #1 qualifier @ 3.77 and champ over Mike Gerber

Ray Bamond took the MagnaFuel Top Sportsman 32 title with a 4.29 over Ken Langois in the final

Larry Roberts is a first time winner in 2022 in Lucas Oil Elite Top Dragster by taking out Ashley Johnson with a 3.84

In Lucas Oil Top Dragster 32 action, Larry “Candy Man” Falter IV defeated Rikki Molnar in the class final

Coolshirt Pro Jr Dragster winner Justin Kerby leaves the line on a qualifying pass

Melanie Salemi took the #1 spot in pro boost with a 3.615/205 mph blast

Todd Tutterow’s undefeated 2022 run came to an end in the semi’s at the hands of eventual winner Camp

With the wheels up Bryan Keller is on his way to the #1 spot in Top Dragster with a 3.711
