1) Craig Breedlove was a friend and a man I admired hugely, and it would be a pleasure to have you send my biography (obituary story) to anyone you think might like to read it. David Tremayne
READERS: If you want David’s excellent biography of Land Speed racer Craig Breedlove, just write to me, and I will send it to you.
2) Hi, Richard! I always enjoy receiving and reading your hot rodding and motorsports newsletters. A while ago, you mentioned in one of our correspondences that you have a list of questions that are helpful when a person is attempting to write an autobiography. Well, my wife and I are going to visit her family back East in a few weeks, I’ll have some idle time on my hands, and I was thinking I might undertake this project (and the fact that I’ll be 73 next week is another prod). Would you forward the questions to me, I’ll be very appreciative. Rick Voegelin
Rick: My system is based on NOUNS: people, places, things. Here are the rules:
A) In CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER, list as many nouns as you can, such as parents, siblings, friends, relatives, schooling, occupation, etc
B) For each noun, write one or more sentences.
C) Spend 10 to 15 minutes, write fast, and come back to this project daily. In other words, have fun and don’t burn out on it.
D) If you need my help, send it to me, and I will assist you.
E) Don’t spend time looking up details and documents. You can always come back later and make adjustments.
F) Did I mention FUN? Yes, have fun with your bio and add lots of stories, funny and sad. And please send me a copy for my archives.

EDITOR: Unfortunately, I have to stop providing photos. For some reason sending photos shuts down my computer until I delete the photos, or they show up on your end as a series of gibberish letters and signs. The photos also make the newsletter too long, and the newsletter is meant to be a brief notice of events only.

9) BOOK REVIEW: The Adventures of Al Joniec: Ford Drag Racer. Written by Charles R. Morris and Al Joniec. Copyright Charles R. Morris, published by Stance & Speed, St Paul, Minnesota, layout and design by Tom Heffron. ISBN-13:978-0-9891149-9-8. Al Joniec has had an eventful life in motorsports and chronicled his career in the book THE ADVENTURES OF AL JONIEC: FORD DRAG RACER. Charles R. Morris is the author and was assisted by Al Joniec. Contributions were made by Lloyd Wolfe, Carl Mentz, and the Spinelli family. The book is a soft cover (paperback) with 168 pages and contains 179 black and white photographs, one color photograph, and 29 various visuals (newspaper clippings, artwork, graphs, etc). The paper is good quality, but not photographic quality, and the pictures are easily readable to slightly grainy. There is a Preface, Introduction, eleven chapters, Epilog and a page for the author. The writing is crisp and well-done, telling Joniec’s story in a casual, easy manner. Morris brings Al’s story to light in such a way that it is difficult to determine when Joniec is writing rather than telling the story. The two men merge their storytelling and writing styles flawlessly. Both men bring their love for drag racing to this work. For the complete review, write to the Editor at RnParks1.
