NHRA NAMES JASON DIERDORFF DIRECTOR OF EVENT SECURITY AND LOGISTICS
INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 26, 2024) – NHRA officials announced today that Jason Dierdorff been named NHRA Director of Event Security and Logistics.
Dierdorff, who is based out of NHRA’s Indianapolis office, brings a wealth of experience to the position, previously serving as the Deputy Chief of Administration at the Speedway Police Department, where he has served the community since 1999. He has also worked with NHRA during the 2024 season as a starting line security coordinator.
As NHRA’s Director of Event Security and Logistics, Dierdorff will oversee security at NHRA national events and manage the pit control team. He will also be NHRA’s onsite OSHA representative, and coordinate and track SPSG training modules.
“I appreciate the opportunity that has been given to me during the 2024 season and I am excited about my new role as the NHRA Director of Event Security and Logistics,” Dierdorff said. “Coming from a background of more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement, I have always found a home in the motorsports community from my involvement with other racing series and tracks, and I look forward to doing the same with NHRA.”
Dierdorff is also the President of Ascension Protective Services, which helps oversee public safety and security for events in NASCAR and IndyCar, and was previously the Event Police Coordinator at Indianapolis Motor Speedway from 2008-2022. At NHRA, Dierdorff will report to NHRA Vice President of Racing Administration Josh Peterson and assist NHRA-owned facilities with security training and needs.
“We’re thrilled to welcome someone with Jason’s skills and experience to the NHRA,” Peterson said. “He has quickly shown a strong dedication to ensuring the starting line is safe and operating efficiently, which is an important aspect of every national event. Jason has developed great relationships with our drivers and race teams as well, and we all look forward to having him in this role.”
