Photo Review: 2025 PDRA GALOT

The 2025 PDRA season opened with the running of the Summit Motorsports East Coast Nationals presented by FuelTech at Galot Motorsports Park.  The event featured the usual new car debuts and class wins by low qualifiers in three of the four professional categories, a defending champion, and one racer new to the category that made a big splash.  Captions and photos by Dave Oakes

Melanie Salemi ruled WS Construction Pro Boost as #1 qualifier at 3.61 and event win over WSOPM winner Steve King.

New to Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous for 2025, Tim Paap put all on notice as #1 qualifier at 3.676 and taking out Tommy Franklin in the final 3.651 – 3.652.

Defending world champ Chris Powers started his AED Extreme Pro Stock title defense with a win over Alan Drinkwater, 4.066 to 4.100.

Walter Lannigan defeated #1 qualifier Lexi Tanner in the Performance Torque Converter Pro 632 final, 4.166 to 4.185.

Blake Denton ran 3.951 in the Liberty’s Gears Pro Street final when Chris Tuten exploded an engine off the line.

Glenn Butcher’s awesome Camaro was the low qualifier in MagnaFuel Elite Top Sportsman at 3.74 – 198.90.

Jeremy Creasman’s colorful Camaro took home the Elite Top Sportsman win over Tim Lawrence when Lawrence broke out.

Jody Stroud’s big bad Zombie was the low man in the Laris Insurance Elite Top Dragster at 3.691.

Past world champ Steve Furr started the season the right way with the win over Kyle Harris in Elite Top Dragster.

Mark Payne couldn’t catch Ken Langois in the MagnaFuel top sportsman 48 final.

Chad Traylor cut a perfect light and ran .004 over for the win in the Laris Insurance top dragster 48.

Connor McGee outran Matt Schalow for the Super Street crown by .034.
