Photo Review: 2025 IHRA Dunn NC

The new IHRA completed its first season on a high note at Darana Dragway, Dunn, N.C. With a combined entry list of over 500 cars, it was quite the show. 2026 is expected to see even bigger growth, with a 10- or 11-event schedule planned. Photos by Dave Oakes highlight the action.

Lex Joon was the #1 qualifier in top fuel at 3.160/245.32 to 660 ft.

Larry “Spiderman” McBride made three exhibition runs over 200 mph.

Kyle Satenstein took home the $50,000 winner’s purse at 3.13 when Joon had to pedal.

Scott Palmer set low e.t. & top speed at 3.06/283.79.

Del Worsham only qualified #7 but won the event over an up in smoke Bobby Bode.

A quicker reaction time gave Chris Powers the Mountain Motor Pro Stock win over Jordan Ensslin, who ran an identical 4.068.

John DeFlorian came the closest to the Pro Stock 3-second club at 4.03.

Cam Clark was the winner in Pro Nitrous over Dane Wood via a holeshot.

Randy Weatherford debuted a new car in Outlaw Pro Mod and took it to the winner’s circle.

In his first event in Pro Mod, Ethan Steding won the whole thing over Kevin McCurdy.

Paul Miller, driving the Oliver & Miller altered, defeated Paul Dove for the altered crown with a 3.72.

Phil Esz continued his winning ways by taking home the win in Top Alcohol Funny Car over Tony Boglio.

Tom Fox Jr. led the open alcohol dragster at 3.525 and won the category when Shane Conway fouled.
