2015 NHRA Englishtown Friday Pro Mod Qualifying Results

JANIS LEADS QUALIFYING IN NHRA J&A SERVICE PRO MOD PORTION OF TOYOTA NHRA SUMMERNATIONALS

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. – Mike Janis raced to the qualifying lead Friday in the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series portion of the Toyota NHRA Summernationals. This weekend’s Pro Mod competition, co-presented by Smithfield Foods and Western Beef, is the fourth of 10 events in the season.

New York native Janis drove his Jan-Cen Racing Engines 2013 Camaro to a performance of 5.792 seconds at 249.72 mph to lead the category at tradition-rich Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.

Steve Matusek sits second with a 5.849 at 250.74 in his Agave Underground 1968 Camaro and Troy Coughlin is third with a 5.853 at 254.14 in his JEGS Mail Order Corvette.

Houston winner Don Walsh sits fourth and is followed by reigning world champion Rickie Smith in fifth.

The final Pro Mod qualifying session is Saturday at 3:15 p.m., and will be followed by the first round of eliminations at 5:30 p.m. Pro Mod eliminations will continue on Sunday at 12:45 p.m.
