June 25-27, 2003 - Back from Bowling
Green! My son Jason and I had a fantastic time at the NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion!
It was a great race. Tons of race cars and street rods. Tons of spectators.
A good time had by all. I only saw about 20 pairs of cars go down the strip
as Jason and I spent most of our time meeting and greeting racers and old
friends. Of course, we took time to see the Cacklefest.
Jason has informed me that I'm not going to
another drag race without him! Works for me. This race reaffirmed my faith
that these cars are out there and that they are ready to race. The Beech
Bend facility was perfect for this event. Rolling hills of green and cozy as
your uncle's farm. The whole deal was terrific. There will be thousands of
photos and dozens of stories about this race. Most will gush about it. You
can believe every one of them. It was great. bp
