September 27-28, 2002 - Drag Racing Stories of the Day: First day qualifying from NHRA Joliet and IHRA Budds Creek. It was hot and muggy Friday at MIR, but if it stays cool tonight, LOOK OUT IHRA WORLD RECORDS! I'll try to get there after work tonight. Look for me after 8pm.

Drag Racing Photo of the Day: Dangerous Don's Small Block Chevy Monza Fuel Funny Car. Brian Wood captured Dangerous Don Gatliff as he prepared to shake out his mouse motored fuel funny at Midway Drag Strip during Southern Classic Thunder II.

Drag Racing Movie of the Week: The Magicar AA/Fuel Dragster Fires Up the Night. John Hutchinson visited the United States in 2001 and sent in this cool footage of the Magicar from the CHRR.

An extended weekend... Hi folks. I came back from the Classic Thunder event at Midway only to find my computer totally locked up. I had to rebuild my email system, which took all my story and photo time. In the meantime, check out this cool article on my nephew, Jonathan (Rhys). We were very proud to welcome him back home on Sunday. We'll catch up on our stories and photos (including Classic Thunder results) tomorrow. bp

September 19, 2002 - Banner ad status. The banners appear to be working again. Sorry for the delays they caused on Sunday. We have identified at least five other banner systems and will choose a new one soon.

September 17, 2002 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: Kalitta, Pedregon, Yates, and Savoie Win at Lucas Oil Nationals. NHRA Communications provides results from the rain-delayed Maple Grove event.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: If That's a Wheelstanding Stocker, It Must Be Division One. Stephen Hawes got 50 great shots from Maple Grove, this wheelstanding Camaro Stocker among them.

Jungle Jim Tribute: The Inimitable Jungle Jim Liberman. Russell James "Jungle Jim" Liberman passed away in a car accident 25 years ago today. To celebrate his life, we used Google to go back through the Draglist archives and link to all our Jungle Jim stories and photos. Jungle Jim's Vegas and Monzas, 1974 - 1977. Norman Blake sent these four great Jungle Jim shots to celebrate Jim's life 25 years after his untimely passing. 

Drag Racing Movie of the Week: Jerry Smith's Chevy Nova Classic Funny Car Burnout. Tim Pratt captured Jerry and his First Love machine smoking the tires at the inaugural Funny Car Reunion.

Nitro Nova: Getting the Ramp Truck (or) The Trip From Hell. Flyin' Phil Elliott takes on an odyssey from LA to Washington to Englishtown to Wisconsin to Seattle and back to LA, all in the name of nostalgia funny car racing.

Danny White, Steve Klemetti, Phil Cottingham, Andy Marrs, and the rest of the all-volunteer Draglist have compiled all drag racer statistics for the first half of 2002 and they've updated the Drag Racing Lists! Of course, we continue to go back through old drag mags and papers to fix our historic listings, as well.
