October 26, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: Pete Robinson, Report to the Tower! Jim Hill shares the tale of Pete's jack start car at Indy 1962 and the reaction to it by the NHRA brass at the time.

October 25, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: IDRC Racers Rewrite the Books at East Coast Finals. Michael Ferrara fills us in on the latest action from the world of import drag racing.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Fuel Fish Story -- Jim Epler's Bass Pro Shops Funny Car. Rick Menges sent along another entertaining drag cartoon, this one imagining a new fire suit for Jim Epler.

October 24, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: Mopars and Chryslers Star at Moroso. Angela Wall provides race and show results from the annual Mopar and Chrysler Show at Moroso Motorsports Park.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Westerlund and Wing Fuel Funny Car at Night. Ralph Reiter sent in this dramatic shot of Paul Luppy putting the W&W Mustang II through its paces at SIR's 64-car FC show.

October 23, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: Support from Good Friends Down Under. Drag racing photojournalist and newspaperman Lex Swayn sent along this reminder that our Aussie friends stand beside us now as they always have.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: How to Wrap Your Car Around its Driveshaft. Ralph "Gonzo" Crosby caught this Mopar driver twisting hard off the starting line.

October 22, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day (1): Dixon, Densham, Gaines And Panella Earn Wins While Force Clinches 11th Winston Title. NHRA Communications provides final results from Ennis. Force clinches, Dixon gets to within 15 points of KB, and Gaines is the 14th different NHRA Pro Stock winner this year. Santos and Pat Austin win the Federal Mogul categories.

Drag Racing Story of the Day (2): Litton, Janis, Vancil, Wilson, and Brand Take IHRA Shreveport Titles. We didn't get an eliminations story, so we've provided a link to the IHRA site so you can read all about it.

October 21, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day (1): NHRA Ennis: Bazemore, Dixon Set Records En Route To No. 1 Qualifying Spots. NHRA Communications provides final qualifying and first round pairings from the Motorplex.

Drag Racing Story of the Day (2): Litton, Hahn, Price, Wilson, and Brand Take Number One Spots in Shreveport; Hahn and Mancuso Win Pro Mod, Nitro Harley Shootouts. Larry Sullivan of Summit FastNews provides final qualifying results and first round pairings from the IHRA World Finals. Congrats to Fred Hahn and John Mancuso for winning the shootouts.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Jim Lytle's "Big Al" Allison-Powered '34 Ford in 1966. Paul Hutchins was on hand in Irwindale when Big Al competed at the AHRA Winters. He got this pit shot of one of the most unique machines in drag racing history.

Drag Racing Movie of the Week: Vintage Fuel Dragsters at the California Hot Rod Reunion. Brother Tim Pratt got 15 diskettes full of video clips from the CHRR. We are going to try to put up a separate page soon, but here is another taste of the action from Bakersfield.

October 20, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day (1): Force, Bernstein, Edwards, and Panella Lead the Way at NHRA O'Reilly Fall Nationals. NHRA Communications provides first day qualifying results from Ennis.

Drag Racing Story of the Day (2): Romine, Price, Hahn, Brand, and Wilson Lead IHRA Shreveport Friday Qualifying. Larry Sullivan of Summit FastNews provides day one qualifying results from the IHRA World Finals.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: Pulde and McGee Vintage Top Fuel Dragsters Pull the Chutes. Another awesome Mark Hovsepian shot, this one from the top end at the Bakersfield March Meet 2001.

October 19, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: A Visit with the Queen of European Doorslammer Racing. Sylvia Hauser was leading the charge in Europe while Shirley Muldowney, Paula Murphy, Judy Lilly, and Shirley Shahan were in their heyday. Sylvia drops in to share memories of her various rides.

Drag Racing Picture of the Day: The Virginian Plymouth A/Factory Experimental Drag Car. Joel Naprstek loves the A/FX cars, and he shot this great resto at Atco in 1999.

October 18, 2001 - Drag Racing Story of the Day: Let's Level the Playing Field (Continued). Steve Taylor follows up on his 9/15 story of the day with some first-or-worst redlight examples from the IHRA President's Cup.

October 13, 2001 - IHRA Shreveport postponed. From Larry Sullivan: GILLIAM, La. - Heavy rain Friday night and continued forecasts of rain through the day Saturday forced IHRA officials to postpone the 4th annual Mopar Parts World Finals one week. The race will be run October 19-21, using the original event schedule. Red River Raceway pits will be open for racer and sponsor parking Thursday, October 18, at 9:00 a.m.
